Intend to Read!

Island Boy By Barbara Cooney- I was interested in this book because it was reccommended to me by classmates during our author studies.


Black and White, The Shortcut, The new Way Things work, and Building Big By David McCauley- I also heard of these through our author studies, and they all seemed to be books I would want in my classrooms. They all had great illustrations, and would be good books to have for early finishers.


Garden of Eve By K.L. Going- I heard about this book during our book pass. I read the summary about it, and it really interested me.


The Adventures of Hugo Cabret By Brian Selznick- I also saw this book during our book pass. The illustrations throughout the book and the summary really got me interested.

The Rabbit and the Turtle By Eric Carle- I heard about this book while students were giving their genre presentations, and it looked like it was good.

The Barefoot Book of Trickster Tales By Richard Walker- I also learned about this in genre presentations and it looked interesting.

Edward and the Pirates By David McPhail- I heard about this  in a genre presentation and one of the group members mentioned it and said that it was good, and so I am interested in reading it.

Thea's Tree By Allison Jackson- I heard about this from genre presentations and someone reccommended it as a good book.

Number the Stars By Lois Lowry- I saw this in a genre presentation, but I read it when I was younger. I haven't read it for a long time, and so this is a book that I would love to go back and reread.

The Princess and the Pizza By Mary Jane and Herm Auch- I thought that this book looked interesting during the genre presentation.

Red Ridin' In the Hood By Patricia Santos Marcantonio and Renato Alarcao- I thought that this spoof of little red riding hood looked really interesting during the genre presentations.

Tree of Dreams By Lawrence Yep- This book was reccommended by a classmate while we presented our text sets

Freak the Mighty By Rodman Philbrick- I came across this book whild looking for books on bullying, but I didn't have time to read it, but it looked interesting.

Maniac Magee By Jerry Spinelli- I also came across this while I was looking for books for my text set. Then it was mentioned in class, and so I would like to read it.

Ordinary Boy By William Boniface- I learned about this book while we were presenting out text sets. It is about an ordinary boy who saves the day in a world of superheroes.

Snowflake Bentley By Jacqueline Briggs Martin- A classmate reccommended this book from their text set.

Michael Recycle Meets Litter Bug Doug By Ellie Bethel- I heard about this book by a classmate who said that it was a good book.

Monster By Walter Dean Myers- I read the summary about this book in our book pass and I thought I might enjoy it.

Feathers By Jacqueline Woodson- I have heard about this author from other students, and so I would like to read one of her books.

The Devil's Arithmetic By Jane Yolen- I remember hearing about this book when I was in school, and then saw it in the book pass, and so I would like to go back and read it.

Yucky Worms By Vivian French- This book was discussed in class, and I think it would be a good one to read.

Diary of a Worm By Doreen Cronin- I have heard about this book before, and then it was brought up in class, and so I would like to read it.
